life as a conservationist
This incredible two week intensive course is perfect for anyone who has a passion for nature and maybe has started to think about a career in conservation, protecting natural systems.
Nestled in the Garrigue biome of Southern France, Students will gain key skills essential to a successful career as a conservation ecologist
Over an intense two weeks, students get real hands on exposure to ‘life as a conservationist’ where they learn extensive wildlife monitoring techniques, mapping, data entry and an intro to basic statistics. During these exercises they will be exposed to professionals in the field, have networking opportunities and complete small scale Phase I habitat survey on local Natura 2000 protected sites, actively contributing to local conservation efforts.
There are both theory and practical lessons as well as group discussion sessions where we cover wide ranging views on essential social, economical and environmental issues – key to solving future environmental issues.
Students will also learn basic wilderness survival skills such as navigation, finding water, tying knots, animal tracking etc.
